I think it’s difficult to realize this when we’re in the middle of it. We need the time and space to allow for perspective. I’ve heard from a lot of people who are still drinking but want to quit, who say alcohol hasn’t cost them enough yet and I just wish I could give them this perspective but we each have to come to it on our own. You touched on a lot of the same actions, thoughts and emotions I’ve experience with drinking. It has occupied a lot of mental real estate for me too. At least a few sub-divisions.
